Never thought I’d be pregnant in the middle of a pandemic.
The news is out! We will be adding a baby girl to our family in August being pregnant during this time around definitely has been different.
I started to have bouts of dizziness at work and I thought it was because I just wasn’t eating in the morning or drinking enough water. Looking back I also had a little bit of nausea here and there but AGAIN I attributed it to stress or something I ate. Finally, I realized it was becoming a daily thing and I was expecting period in a few days. We came home one night and I felt so nauseous. We decided to just take a test. We didn’t truly expect it to say PREGNANT!
It’s been years since we’ve been pregnant so it was all so surreal. But with COVID it’s even more different. Appointments have been lonely. Not being able to share the first appointment and hear the heartbeat with my husband for the first time together has been challenging.
I really wanted my husband to have a first for this baby. And I decided it would be the gender. We did the non invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) that tested the baby’s genes for any anomalies and bonus! Let’s us know the gender. When the results came in I asked that they tell my husband instead. That week was probably the longest week for him. But it was so worth it. I cried at the effort he put in to make this so special for us. We can not wait to meet our daughter and for her to meet her brothers.
August 2021 we are ready for you.
